The name 207 Brewing comes from Maine's phone area code.  Being a state with a smaller population, the entire state has the 207 area code.  While Greg has only been in Maine since 2009, Brandy was born and raised in Bethel, Maine.  When Greg came to Maine, he finally understand the spirit of the Maine people that Brandy had been telling him about.  The people in Maine are real people.  That is, they are real to themselves, real to others.  There is no sugar coating, they tell you how it is.  They also take that same approach to life and recreation.  They work hard, and they play even harder.  Along with almost year round hunting and fishing, each season offers something different.  Summer brings the lush forests to life, offering almost unlimited hiking, biking and 4-wheeling.  Fall adds the addition of the most beautiful leaf transformation the entire country offers.  People come from all over the world to see our beautiful forests in the fall.  Winter offers snow, and lots of it.  Skiing, snowboarding, snow machining, ice fishing, if it can be done on ice or snow, Mainers do it.  In spring the trees start to come to life, showing the greenery that hasn't been seen for months.  While most people love the state they live in, so do we, so much we named our beer after it!
